These are my top 3 favorite looks from the collection. I especially enjoyed “Miles Away,” which they had Michael Jagmin from A Skylit Drive sing Kellin Quinn’s part (such a good choice since they do kind of sound alike- anyone agree?) and “Legacy,” their very last encore song which I would’ve been so bummed if they didn’t play it since it’s one of my all-time favorite songs that actually helped get me through some personal struggles and still inspires me today. Although I admit I didn’t know every single song they played, their energy was amazing and I had a good time singing along to the ones I did know. They got everyone super pumped with playing “The Sinner” as their opening song, which has been stuck in my head for weeks now. This was my third time seeing them live- the first was at last year’s Warped Tour and the second was at Sleeping with Sirens’s Feel This tour. I was so thrilled when Memphis May Fire finally went on stage.
At least you can see the chandelier in this shot & how pretty of a venue Irving Plaza actually is. This was how far I got when Memphis May Fire played. Wearing a graphic t-shirt such as this Dream Catcher one from Lights Alive Apparel (if you read my first post you should be familiar with this brand and if not, read about it here) and quirky accessories can help turn your lazy weekend look into something so much more. With that being said, it does not mean you have to skimp on style and be totally basic. As much as I love getting dolled up, I admit there are days when nothing’s better than throwing on a t-shirt and leggings and wearing only neutral colors. Posted in Uncategorized on Februby TrendsMeetTempo. Looking forward to more shows next season! Special thanks to The Riviere Agency for the invites and helping me be a part of this wonderful week. My favorite item was the A embellished top, which is perfect for gals like me with an A (last) name!įrom previewing these fabulous collections to hanging out at the Andy Warhol-inspired lounges at Skylight Clarkson, I had a great time at NYFW. With everything going on in our country, it was refreshing to see diversity during fashion week.Īnniesa’s collection was pure luxury, consisting of heavily embellished gowns, shiny and textured jackets, and poufy skirts and sleeves – all fit for a queen. The models consisted entirely of immigrants and second-generation childen of immigrants, as Anniesa is a firm believer in equal opportunity and seeing beauty in everyone. It was my first time seeing her collection, and I was pleasantly surprised to see her models going down the runway in hijabs.
The other show I attended was that of Anniesa Hasibuan, an Indonesian designer. What stood out to me most were the bold black and white floral prints and the pops of red, in a breathtaking gown, tassel earrings, and even the models’ lips! Overall it was a very romantic collection and some looks were perfect for Valentine’s Day that same week. The color palette remained pretty neutral, with gowns in silky soft greys, mauves, light browns, and some black.
I was blown away by her Spring/Summer 2017 collection that featured lovely ethereal gowns, so you can imagine my excitement when I got invited to see her latest collection. I had the pleasure of being invited to two shows at Skylight Clarkson for the Fall/Winter 2017 collections, and both collections were outstanding.įirst up was the Leanne Marshall show. What better way to get back into blogging than to cover one of the most exciting times for any fashion lover – New York Fashion Week! Although I have been trying to post pictures every now and then on Instagram, it has been forever since I wrote a blog post on here.
